Sir Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton MBE is a British racing driver currently competing in Formula One, driving for MercedesFormula One Team. In Formula One, Hamilton has won a joint-record seven World Drivers' Championship titles (tied with Michael Schumacher), and holds the records for the most wins (103), pole positions (103), and podium finishes (191).
Lewis Hamilton began his car racing career in the 2001 British Formula Renault Winter Series, finishing fifth in the standings. Hamiltons first season in Formual One say him partner with defending world champion Fernando Alonso and is to date the only black driver to race in the series.
